Eliot’s alternate, feline universe offers a chance to be part of a legacy, and cast members speak reverentially of the show’s whimsy and technical demands. Now, in the current revival on Broadway, a new litter is exploring Andy Blankenbuehler’s movement layered in with Gillian Lynne’s original choreography.

Most dancers are fortunate enough to be cast in one Broadway show. Tyler Hanes has been in nine. And the list of impressive credits does not stop at Broadway. Hanes has been in movies, television shows and even produces a new web series. He is well-known in the performing community, and for only great reasons. He’s down to earth, talented and just down right hilarious. 

Andrew Lloyd Webber‘s iconic musical Cats returned to Broadway this summer, with British chanteuse Leona Lewis making her debut on the Great White Way as Grizabella, The Glamour Cat. (Her run in the show ended last month, and School of Rock actress Mamie Parris has since taken over the “Memory”-making role.) I went behind the scenes at the theater and got a crash course in stage makeup, skin-tight unitards and choreography before making my own debut on a Broadway stage.
